Beaches

NORTH

One of our favorite beaches. This costal enclave has a special magic of its own. This is largely due to the interplay of colours created by the clays, the volcanic rocks and turquoise blue of the sea. The beach is sheltered from the tramontana by the breakwaters opposite which are a great place for watching birds and marine life.

CALA PILAR

45 min walk

This medium sized cove, surrounded by hills of clay, has golden sands and limpid waters. Although slightly off the beaten track, it is a favourite with locals and visitors who come here in moderate numbers. You can get here along the Cami de Cavalls, from Ets Alocs beach or Sant Felip beach. In both cases, you'll still have to walk for about 45min to get there.

PLAYA CAVALLERIA

Easy access

Sheltered by Cap de Cavalleria, Menorca's most northerly promontory with cliffs standing 80m above sea level, this has become one of the most popular spots on the Menorcan coast. It's two beaches, CAVALLERIA and FERRAGUT are ease of access. Mud baths have become increasingly popular among bathers but can cause erosion.

SOUTH

SANTO TOMAS

Easy access.

SON BOU

Easy access - 30 min walk

SANTO TOMAS is just a few minutes' walk from the village resort of Sant Tomàs. It's a urban beach with all the services you would expect. Perfect for childrens For a wilder experience, walk 10 minutes after the restaurant Es Bruc to reach the beatiful beach of BINIGAUS

Stretching for 2.5km, Son Bou is Menorca's longest beach. It has two sections:  One is more built up and has all kind of services for tourists. The other one in the west is virgin and has no services, hotels or houses. You need to walk arounnd 30 min from the touristic part to get there.

Together with MACARELLA, MACARELLETA and EN TURQUETA, these are the virgin coves that are the most visited by tourists. They have almost identical features: beaches of white sand and turquoise water with dense pine groves on the path.

EAST

CALA MESQUIDA

Easy access

Cala Mesquida is the nearest beach to Mahón and was declared in 1991 Natural Area of Special Interest in the Balearic Islands. The cove has a small hill at whose right margin inhabits one of the largest colonies of gulls and cormorants on the islands. There is a car park about 300m from the beach and you will find a little food truck on the beach serving delicious italian icecream.

PUNTA PRIMA

Easy access

TREBALUGER

Difficult access - 50 min walk

The beach here is quite large, of excellent fine, white sand. However, it gets very crowded in summer. Daytime activities are limited beyond the beach. History lovers can enjoy some prehistoric and historic monuments in the local area. Night time brings a variety of lively bars and discos.

Cala Trebalúger is an isolated virgin beach with difficult access by walking or by any other transport. Is one of the best beaches of the south, a sandy beach with crystalline waters. One of its main characteristic is that it has a river that flows into the sea. You need to park the car in the parking of CALA MITJANA, and walk along the ocean front following the indications towards Trebalúger.
